约翰•斯坦贝克（John Steinbeck，1902—1968），美国作家，1962年诺贝尔文学奖得主。一生共创作27部作品，代表作包括《煎饼坪》（1935）、《人鼠之间》（1937）、《小红马》（1937）、《愤怒的葡萄》（1939）、《罐头厂街》（1945）、《伊甸园之东》（1952）、《我们不满的冬天》（1961）等。其中《愤怒的葡萄》还获得1939年的美国国家图书奖和1940年的普利策奖。
斯坦贝克既是文学大师，也是最受美国民众喜爱的畅销作家之一，迄今为止其作品累计销售近一亿册，其中超过半数是《愤怒的葡萄》《人鼠之间》这两部代表作。
