英国小说家、诗人。本名玛丽·安·伊凡斯。从小受良好教育，先从事翻译活动，后凭《教会生活场景》成名，代表作有《米德尔马契》《亚当·比德》《弗洛斯河上的磨坊》《织工马南》等。爱略特以对人物心理细致入微的描写著称。
