卡罗尔・希尔兹（1935―），当代加拿大极负盛名的作家之一。曾任《加拿大斯拉夫文集》助理编辑，1974年起转为自由作家，发表过两本诗集、两部短篇小说及近十部长篇小说，其中多部荣获普利策奖、布克奖和奥林奇奖等文学奖项或提名。《斯通家史札记》曾与1993年至1995年的两年里先后荣获全国书评界奖及美国普利策文学奖。
